New vegan need advice on which to take vitamin supplements.?
I've been a vegetarian for 2 years, and as my new year resolution I'm taking a new twist to be a vegan. I lost 15 pounds, I feel good physically and morally To prevent this from happening because I know without even reading I need some vitamins to supplement my change in eating habits. What do you recommend? And please add a link to the website vitamins if you can. I am a college student so lets try to stay on the economic side. Thanks guys:)
Fortunately, almost all Vitamins and minerals are found in animal derived forms and if you are eating a balanced diet and healthy vegan, you should be fine. I say that vitamin B12 is one of the nutrients you should pay attention. It is found in fortified foods such as some brands of cereal, nutritional yeast, soy milk and soy-analogues is recommended that if you are a vegetarian and not eating foods that contain vitamin B12 on a regular basis, you should take a B12 supplement daily or weekly: I can take a supplement every day.) But I recommend you read under the "nutritional concerns on the link that explains the nutrients to be pay attention to as a vegan. You may not get enough of certain nutrients / vitamins and minerals and that where I would say you should take a supplement. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veganism Oh and as to where to get / how much is, I'm not sure where you're best to get a chemist and see what they recommend for the supplement you are looking for. Hope that helps a little!
