VEGETARIAN XMAS IDEAS?
Please help I need ideas of vegetarian food for Christmas Day (NO nut roast) and ideas to begin with, the parties and the deserts would also be helpful Thanks:) Christmas day 4 and boxing will serve 11 i! want to do, not buy (and theres no Tesco here) …
Starter: Butternut Squash Soup "would be wonderful, there are tons of different recipes flying around if you do a search either a primary or Torkurky Quorn roast (depending on your location) Veggie sausages wrapped in bacon vegetarian roast potatoes, baked with Granny Smith apples, Brussels sprouts, Parsnips roasted garlic in oil and gold Vegetarian dessert sauce chocolate syrup cheese cake and orange Ingredients 9 oz vegan digestive biscuits, crushed 5 oz vegan margarine, melted 1 teaspoon Agar flakes Level 7 oz orange-flavored chocolate 1 tablespoon golden syrup 8 oz tofu (silken tofu works best) Notes You should be able to get agar flakes and vegan digestive biscuits in your local whole foods. Serve small slices (very rich), decorated with orange peel and orange slices. Alternatively, serve with a fruit coulis and homemade vegetarian some ice cream (eg Swedish Glace vanilla flavor). If you have some chocolate left over, the grid and sprinkle on top. Delicious! Method Mix the cookie crumbs with margarine. Place in a greased pan (preferably with removable bottom, or line base with baking paper) and Pat down firmly. Make the agar flakes with a quart of water (following the directions on the package). Meanwhile, melt the chocolate and mixed with the syrup and tofu. Mix in the agar and pour mixture on top of crust. Chill for 2 hours.
