Do you use tofu (soybean curd) in the real Thai cuisine?
I'm going to Thailand in a couple of weeks and I wonder about the food: I'm a vegetarian and Thai love food in the UK, where there is plenty of choice, since they can use tofu instead of meat. But my question is, when I'm cooking Thailand Royal Thai'll be able to make tofu dishes or is it just a western thing that restaurants in the UK do to address Western vegetarians? Thanks for your help!
Yes, you can find lots of vegetarian food in Thailand. The vast majority of the people there are Buddhists and there are many vegetarians there. I went to cooking school in Chiang Mai in Thailand and used tofu in many of our dishes. Have a great time on your trip!
