• Head Chef / Chef de cuisine: the boss. Will plan menus, hire and fire staff and deal with suppliers and managing costs and budgets. Depending on your profile and other commitments, the chef often leave much of the day-to-day wages.
• Executive Chef: larger establishments such as hotels have an executive chef. This person may have much the same responsibilities as the head chef of a restaurant, but a larger scale. May be responsible for planning menu and set the agenda for the style of cuisine served, for example.
Chef Training and Qualifications
If you has 16 years of age or older, you can request a "modern apprenticeships". Here you can buy a chef along with practical training experience learning from other professional chefs. Once a Level 3 National Vocational Qualification (CAP), after about three years of work.
Another way is that you can study full time at a university or school of culinary training Chef. A number of City & Guilds qualifications chef at various levels, aimed at those wanting to work as professional chefs and other food outlets.
