Stress! The 6-letter word unpleasant impacts most of our lives and we have to "sink or swim so" 95% of the time, you can drastically reduce the fuel you put in your body. Just think for a second. Reflecting on some of their "not so glorious food choices and encouragement behind what you decide to eat and why. There is a vicious circle attached to stress and "bad-under rotting food." Usually when people are overwhelmed, depressed or stressed, your first instinct is to take something to eat, and most often, food is preferable that it is "junk food. We tend to consume foods that are high in sugar like soda, candy, cake, etc and foods that are high in carbohydrates and fat such as French fries, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, hamburgers (for meat eaters) to help us get a bad day or our life. Why gravitate to these foods unhealthy? Well, in a sense, we are justified in the selection of these foods. Eating the wrong food that makes us feel a little better for a short period of time. The extra sugar and carbohydrates you get from the "not-so-good" for us, food gives the body a "spike" in the hormone serotonin, what makes us feel a little happier (for now) and brings us the comfort we need (hence the word "comfort food"). However, after Serotonin levels drop and the level of blood sugar crumbles, that is when reality begins to Set in. You begin to mentally beat yourself up about ½ dozen cupcakes to be inhaled and now you're regretting every bite he took. Now you are feeling depressed, stressed and hungry again (because there was little or no protein in the "junk" that was just consumption) and the vicious circle has a new beginning.
Now would that have taken control of a handful of almonds or nuts or eat a fresh vegetable salad loaded with fruit and marinated tofu to get through her "bad timing". Food and vegetables and the adoption of a diet eliminated based on fruits and terminate the inter-dependent relationship of unhealthy foods. A plant-based or vegetarian diets are packed with nutrients, vitamins, and are generally low in bad fats. As a vegetarian, if you're eating a healthy and well rounded kingdom of protein, fruits, plants and vegetables your body no longer want that appeals to relieve stress (and, to stress-induced change), unhealthy foods. Just see how easy it is to choose healthier foods:
When you are stressed tend to eat:
Burgers and fries
Drinking a coffee, or caffeinated beverages based on sugar
A big bag of potato chips
Fried Chicken
Instead you should eat:
Fresh salad with nuts, asparagus, dried cranberries and balsamic vinegar
Freshly squeezed orange or grapefruit juice or a fruit smoothie
A handful of nuts or Blue corn tortilla chips with salsa and guacamole
Lightly roasted tempeh with peanut sauce
If you look at all the alternatives that can replace are cereals, vegetables or fruit based of. Once you start to take baby steps and adopt a new way of eating, your body will begin to want fresh vegetables, nuts and other whole foods rich in nutrients support and enzymes that your body can use to grow strong and keep your stress levels and chemistry in check. Vegetables, fruits and protein without meat is processed by your body to provide continuous and consistent levels of sugar, carbohydrates and energy, peak or fever may experience eating sugar and eating hamburgers chips (which are loaded with hidden trans fats and sugar).
The next time you feel overwhelmed, do not let the food you eat add to your stress "." Instead, select foods that are to give their "temple" with the ammunition it needs to combat stress and end the "tension food "of the cycle. Choosing to feed your mind and mood with a vegetable / plant or cereal meal or snack that does not attack your body chemistry or cause regret, but will give your body what it needs to regroup emotionally and physically.
